my entire "general likes" section was pretty much written with them in mind, but in short, they hit all the beats i enjoy in a ship: the whole enemies-to-lovers push-pull of it all, a complex relationship with a lot of shifting power dynamics, a fighting-as-flirting thing that lends itself to some really hot hate sex or dubcon scenarios, and underneath it all, mutual respect and maybe even a mutual fascination
i'm most familiar with their Nightwing (1996) dynamic (Slade's contract on Amy, the whole Renegade arc) and Dark Crisis, but please feel free to use any of the comics canon as a jumping-off point! equally happy receiving something that's explicitly based in the comics, is vaguely handwavily canon, is a canon divergent AU, etc. or, of course, recursive/remix fic :D
i'm gonna cheat and instead of providing specific prompts, just collect some freeform tags from other exchanges that i love for them. but feel free to ignore these if they're not sparking anything for you!
- Bad guys think they made them do it but they really just enabled them
- Betray them to save them
- Competence Kink - Rivals Are Incredibly Turned On By Each Other's Talent
- Enemies reluctantly starting to like each other after being forced to work together
- Hero in desperate situation uses sex as bargaining chip
- Hero justifies saving villain by claiming he's the only one who can help heroes (he's not)
- Humiliation - verbal humiliation for obvious arousal
- In denial - Pretending Sex is for Reasons Other Than Desire
- Reluctant attraction - sexual attraction to someone they (should) dislike
- Repeated DubCon as Part of a Cat & Mouse Game Between Rivals
- Unexpected Mercy - but only after character has already hurt them
- Undercover - Character is undercover and their enemy unexpectedly plays along
- Villain who is weirdly possessive over hero

i would love love love to see some fun in-universe news articles/social media posts/gossip blogs/interviews/etc set during the aftermath of the movie.
- Does a video of Art & Patrick's match go viral? Were people aware of the drama between them from years ago, or is this catching everyone totally off guard?
- How crazy do tennis fans go when Art retires? Does Tashi start coaching Patrick after all, and what do fans have to say about that?
- Does the paparazzi catch Patrick sneaking out of Art & Tashi's house and come to all the wrong conclusions? How wild does the speculation get?
- Are there social media wars between #Patashi truthers and the #Artrick truthers? (How much of a meltdown do people have when they find out those crazy OT3 truthers were right all along?)
- Who do people stan and who's cast as the problematic cheater who should be cancelled?
- And what in the world do any of them SAY about the whole mess when journalists inevitably ask?
i'd also be equally delighted to just get some plain ol fanfic about them :)
Fandom-specific DNWs: any non-poly or V-shaped poly situation between them (though public speculation that that's the case is a-ok!) — i'd like them in an equal throuple please!, dubcon or noncon

i miss these two, i loved their dynamic so much! the way Ivan handles all of Sandoval's ridiculous come-ons with the same put-upon *sigh* *eyeroll* (...*blush*?), and how Sandoval finds Ivan’s sexual inexperience cute. i like the idea of Sandoval trying to get a reaction out of Ivan while Ivan resists, even though a part of him is slowly coming around to liking it. (but of course he's embarrassed by liking it and won't admit it!)
some prompts (but feel totally free to ignore these if your muse takes you elsewhere!!):
- Sandoval convinces the Mistress to release Ivan from his apprenticeship. Into a new apprenticeship with Sandoval himself, of course.
- Sandoval tries various increasingly kinky flirting/harassment techniques to try to get Ivan to crack. What "crack" means is up to you. Maybe he's trying to come up with something so crazy that Ivan refuses (even at the risk of offending the Mistress), or trying to turn Ivan on so much that he makes a move on Sandoval. Or maybe he's just trying to make Ivan blush again!
- As far as Sandoval knows, the Mistress has been keeping poor Ivan been in a state of orgasm denial for months! Maybe he wants to make it up to him. Cue overstimulation? Or maybe Sandoval just wants to figure out if prostate orgasms count.
- What happens when Ivan wakes up from his magical coma? Or... during the coma? Does Sandoval do something that wakes him up?
General letter
SFW likes:
- enemies to lovers — hero/villain, rivals, etc. i love this in any way, from a lightly teasing, banter-y frenemies dynamic to a mortal enemies, i-will-kill-you-or-die-trying thing, and anywhere in between
- imbalanced power dynamics — captor/captive, older/younger, nobleman/peasant for some straightforward ones, but i also love it when there’s more than meets the eye: role reversals, emotional dynamics that are mismatched or opposite to the power dynamic, the less-powerful character finding ways to exploit the one in power, etc… basically, the more social, emotional, and situational factors that add spice, the merrier!
- complex, messy relationships in general! give me all the fraught past history, the flip-flopping feelings, the power plays, the reluctant attraction, the dysfunction, the manipulation, the mind games, the possessiveness, the obsessiveness, a beautiful mix of both, the betrayal, the forgiveness, the unfounded fear and unexpected mercy. yum!
- mutual respect, competence kink — though i love when characters get to hate each other, i also love when they strongly respect one another despite that! i also like when they can hold their own against one another — ie if there’s an imbalanced power dynamic, it’s more because of the situation (someone is injured, held captive) or a social dynamic (boss, professor) rather than an imbalance of skill, strength, intelligence, etc.
- “forced proximity” tropes — one bed, trapped together, snowed in, assigned on a case together, political arranged marriage, all that good stuff
- UST-heavy scenarios — situations where characters can’t (or won’t) resolve what is obviously blazing hot sexual tension. because it’s socially improper, because they (supposedly) hate each other, because they’re undercover, because they’re on an important mission that they can’t compromise, etc
- pining — on that note, also yes to straight-up pining, especially mutual pining. “they’d never look at me twice if it wasn’t for this arranged marriage,” “i can’t risk disrupting this fraught peace we’ve finally established,” all that good good
- identity porn — undercover stuff, secret identities, etc
- banter, snark, fighting-as-flirting
- sex/relationship chicken — pride, competitiveness, an “i won’t back down first!” mentality leading to escalating intimacy
- morally gray characters who are allowed to stay that way
- happy/hopeful endings
smut likes:
- dubcon of all kinds — from milder forms like sex pollen, to imbalanced power dynamics where consent can’t be freely given (ie captor/captive), to coercion or blackmail or manipulation, to situations where consent isn’t discussed at all (ie fights that end in fucking), even up to situations that may need to be tagged for noncon. all yummy to me
- humiliation, dirty talk, degradation — this is like, THE kink for me. i can be into basically anything that is used for the purposes of humiliating someone. especially love it when characters are reluctantly into something and feel ashamed about it; when they’re forced to admit or show just how into it they are — or better yet, to beg for it >:)
- physical control and resistance — struggles for power, needing to be threatened (gun/knife kink anyone?) or restrained in order to submit
- under/un-negotiated kink — in general i think it’s fun when it’s in the heat of the moment. take something like bondage — BIG yes to tying someone up with a belt, gagging them with their clothes, etc, versus characters buying a shibari kit, for example. kink discovery, when characters learn for the first time that they are really into something, is fun too!
- outwardly non-sexual dominance and control — stuff like making a character shine boots, corporal punishment, handcuffing someone as part of an arrest… and the character is kinda into it. (and, god, they’re so weird for that, right?! but, wait, is the character punishing them also into it too..?)
- “frog boiling” — the slow burn pushing of boundaries, manipulation, gaslighting, escalation into increasingly kinky but plausibly deniable scenarios that a character only realizes late in the game… yum
- orgasm control — chastity devices, cock cages, orgasm delay/denial
- breeding kink — and kinking on pregnancy, including mpreg
- mild feminization — “mild” meaning yes to changing hair/clothes/makeup, bodily changes resulting from pregnancy, occasional kinky use of gendered words like "girl" or "wife," no to anything surgical or hormonal, permanently switching to she/her pronouns, or permanently referring to the character as a woman.
- watersports in all its forms :)
really, when it comes to specific kinks i can be into almost anything that’s used to control or humiliate a character 🙈 as long as it’s not in my hard DNWs, go crazy with it! and i mean that!
opt-ins:
these are common DNWs that i’m explicitly OK with!
- omegaverse — and i'm okay with omegas having any genitalia or combination thereof :)
- bodily fluids, including watersports
- unconventional formats — 1st or 2nd person POV, epistolary, etc
- unrealistic sex — come inflation, way-too-big insertions, xeno/monsterfucking, hentai logic, inadvisable things as lube, etc
on the fence:
these aren’t hard limits by any means, but they are aspects of stories i don’t usually find myself gravitating to
- fluff, established relationships, soulmate AUs — complex “established” relationships, though, like an enemies-with-benefits thing, or arranged marriages with mutual pining? that’s cool with me!
- mundane AUs — no superpowers for characters that usually have them, no magic for a world that usually has it, coffeeshop AUs, etc
- childbirth, kidfic — to be clear i LOVE breeding kink and pregnancy kink. i’m also chill with non-kinky pregnancy lol, and with kids being present in fic. i just don’t tend to gravitate to fic where the *main focus* is birthing/raising kids
- heavily negotiated kink — e.g. traffic light system, CNC, high-protocol BDSM
DNWs:
- underage, ageplay, daddy/mommy kink
- scat, vomit
- body horror, gore — ok with stabbing, broken bones, gunshot wounds, and the like, but DNW amputation, eye trauma, flaying, etc)
- main character death
- unrequested gender/sexuality changes, including genderbends and ace/aro headcanons
- violent non-con where one party never feels desire or reciprocates at all — though dubcon is very welcome, and it’s ok if something starts out or ends as noncon
