i am narrowing in on a very specific iddy dynamic for this exchange, so i'm really open to receiving works in any fandoms, or receiving original works, as long as it hits that delicious whump + unexpected mercy that comes too late + guilty whumper combo :)

i tried to narrow down what's iddiest about these two to me and i've built this request around two main dynamics:

• on dick's end, his unwilling attraction to someone dangerous meaning that he has to tell himself all sorts of lies about why he's into it. essentially, putting himself into dubcon situtations so he doesn't have to admit it might just be con-con
• on slade's end, the "oh fuck i've accidentally caught feelings" realization, whether by confronting his inordinate possessiveness or by grudgingly realizing he doesn't actually want to see dick that hurt

basically, give me some sort of reluctant "i'm into this but i don't want to be" from both or either side, and i will be happy :) there are also a ton other tags in the set that i'm into!! i've tried organizing them into broad iddy dyamics here:

Any Male Character/Any Male Character, Any Male Villain/Any Male Hero 

okay, i’ve narrowed down this specific dynamic to be so iddy to me that i don't care what fandom it's in. i'll do my best to explain it here:

• first, some unexpected mercy, hold the unfounded fear — a character is completely at the mercy of their enemy, except their fear is totally founded, because their captor is, in fact, willing to hurt them. happy to do so, even.
• a dash of “oh fuck, feelings” — the captor really hurts (or almost really hurts) their captive and then is like... wait, this victory is NOT as sweet as i thought it was gonna be.
• and then finally a sprinkle of guilt and h/c — “great, now i have to nurse this stupid hero who i hate back to health/tend to their wounds/etc. AND they don't trust me now, and i feel... bad about that?!"

a couple notes:

• i did write this summary from the POV of the whumper but it's also particularly delicious to read about it from the whumpee POV!
• "choice of fandom" can include original work, btw!!! if it's not OW, though, i'd love to be introduced to characters who have a canon relationship along these lines :D

ofc, optional details are ultimately optional!!! i don't it want to feel like i've just plotted an entire story for you 😅. these are just the primary plot beats i find myself gravitating to, but if you want to mix and match, shake it up, subvert tropes, etc, please, please, please do so!!!!! i am really just happy to read anything that orbits anywhere around these dynamics. and feel free to mix and match with the other tags i've requested in this exchange!

also, to be specific, the "hurt" inflicted can also be sexual (that's welcomed, even) — if it's dubcon that the whumpee is at least a little into, i'm totally fine with it going all the way, and then the whumpee being physically hurt/emotionally upset by it afterwards. if it's going to be noncon, i'd just ask that the whumper almost go through with it, but have the "wait i don't want to do this" realization before any actual noncon takes place.

this is honestly pretty similar to my CCOF prompt, just with some specific character configurations/dynamics.

i also tried to take these tags in a slightly different direction, though both have to do with unexpected mercy from an enemy haha. basically, playing with that tension of expecting the worst from the enemy who has you just where they want you (and maybe even getting some Bad), but ultimately receiving care is very, very iddy for me. especially into those lima-syndrome type feelings from the captor/bad guy — i don't really want fluff or sweetness, just like, the bare minimum beginnings of tenderness, being not-as-horrible-as-they-could-be.

also, i am clearly into dynamics with a heavy power imbalance, but despite that i really like a healthy level of respect between the parties, and if you go the smutty route i'd like for both to be into it at some point during the encounter, even if it's grudging or reluctant!

• enemies to lovers — hero/villain, rivals, etc. i love this in any way, from a lightly teasing, banter-y frenemies dynamic to a mortal enemies, i-will-kill-you-or-die-trying thing, and anywhere in between
• imbalanced power dynamics — captor/captive, older/younger, nobleman/peasant for some straightforward ones, but i also love it when there’s more than meets the eye: role reversals, emotional dynamics that are mismatched or opposite to the power dynamic, the less-powerful character finding ways to exploit the one in power, etc… basically, the more social, emotional, and situational factors that add spice, the merrier! 
• complex, messy relationships in general! give me all the fraught past history, the flip-flopping feelings, the power plays, the reluctant attraction, the dysfunction, the manipulation, the mind games, the possessiveness, the obsessiveness, a beautiful mix of both, the betrayal, the forgiveness, the unfounded fear and unexpected mercy. yum!
• mutual respect, competence kink — though i love when characters get to hate each other, i also love when they strongly respect one another despite that! i also like when they can hold their own against one another — ie if there’s an imbalanced power dynamic, it’s more because of the situation (someone is injured, held captive) or a social dynamic (boss, professor) rather than an imbalance of skill, strength, intelligence, etc. 
• “forced proximity” tropes — one bed, trapped together, snowed in, assigned on a case together, political arranged marriage, all that good stuff
• UST-heavy scenarios — situations where characters can’t (or won’t) resolve what is obviously blazing hot sexual tension. because it’s socially improper, because they (supposedly) hate each other, because they’re undercover, because they’re on an important mission that they can’t compromise, etc
• pining — on that note, also yes to straight-up pining, especially mutual pining. “they’d never look at me twice if it wasn’t for this arranged marriage,” “i can’t risk disrupting this fraught peace we’ve finally established,” all that good good
• identity porn — undercover stuff, secret identities, etc
• banter, snark, fighting-as-flirting
• sex/relationship chicken — pride, competitiveness, an “i won’t back down first!” mentality leading to escalating intimacy
• morally gray characters who are allowed to stay that way
• happy/hopeful endings

• dubcon of all kinds — from milder forms like sex pollen, to imbalanced power dynamics where consent can’t be freely given (ie captor/captive), to coercion or blackmail or manipulation, to situations where consent isn’t discussed at all (ie fights that end in fucking), even up to situations that may need to be tagged for noncon. all yummy to me
• humiliation, dirty talk, degradation — this is like, THE kink for me. i can be into basically anything that is used for the purposes of humiliating someone. especially love it when characters are reluctantly into something and feel ashamed about it; when they’re forced to admit or show just how into it they are — or better yet, to beg for it >:)
• physical control and resistance — struggles for power, needing to be threatened (gun/knife kink anyone?) or restrained in order to submit
• under/un-negotiated kink — in general i think it’s fun when it’s in the heat of the moment. take something like bondage — BIG yes to tying someone up with a belt, gagging them with their clothes, etc,  versus characters buying a shibari kit, for example. kink discovery, when characters learn for the first time that they are really into something, is fun too!
• outwardly non-sexual dominance and control — stuff like making a character shine boots, corporal punishment, handcuffing someone as part of an arrest… and the character is kinda into it. (and, god, they’re so weird for that, right?! but, wait, is the character punishing them also into it too..?)
• “frog boiling” — the slow burn pushing of boundaries, manipulation, gaslighting, escalation into increasingly kinky but plausibly deniable scenarios that a character only realizes late in the game… yum
• other rapid fire kinks i’m into: orgasm delay/denial, breeding kink, chastity devices/cock cages, mild feminization, watersports

really, when it comes to specific kinks i can be into almost anything that’s used to control or humiliate a character 🙈 as long as it’s not in my hard DNWs, go crazy with it! and i mean that!

• established relationships and fluff — complex “established” relationships, though, like an enemies-with-benefits thing, or arranged marriages with mutual pining? that’s cool with me!
• soulmates — it’s fun when it causes problems, but i generally don’t prefer reading soulmate fic where it fixes them!
• mundane AUs — no superpowers for characters that usually have them, no magic for a world that usually has it, coffeeshop AUs, etc
• het femdom — i dunno, man, i love it but i am weirdly particular in ways i find hard to articulate lolol. disregard this one for spuffy tho. i am always into femdom spuffy 🫡
• negotiated kink, CNC — honestly i guess i just prefer it in the heat of the moment
